Grant Application Update
We’re moving to Discourse!
Meta Gamma Delta DAO is moving our grants process to Discourse!
Since the inception of MGD we have always tried to be transparent and accessible — ensuring that whether you are new to the DAO space or have been here a while, you will feel welcomed and can get up to speed on all things MGD!
We started MGD with five contributors and now have a Discord of 800+ people, with 100+ DAO members and 30+ active contributors on five different committees. #decentralization am I, right?
We love that our community continues to grow because not only is it a symbol of people aligning with our mission but it also provides us with a constant cohort of fresh eyes that test our assumptions and processes.
It has recently come to our attention that we can and should be more transparent in our grant process. Many other DAOs allow for all contributors to be able to read anything submitted to the DAO rather than keep it in siloed Notion boards. In the current process, the grants committee (which any member can join) filters through all applicants on a bi-weekly basis and recommends a list to the entire DAO and the DAO can then decide to fund those suggested projects through a voting process.
While all members do have a say, we want to update the process and allow for any person to be able to see not only who applies, but also how and why we chose to fund certain projects over others (if you join the grant committee you can help us decide!).
We have made this happen by moving our application and discussion process to Discourse forums. This is an exciting next step for us and it is already live!
Grants To Date
For context, the grants committee has granted $76k+ and raised $200k+ to date!
- $25k WDAI from MetaCartel
- $2k in DAI, PAN through Giveth
- $125k in ONE token from Harmony Foundation
- $50k in DAI from pet3rpan
- $20k+ from Gitcoin Grants
